We are pleased to inform all our members about the successful conduct of the GET-TOGETHER OF PROFESSIONALS & MANAGERS (P&M) in Banking, organised by All India Bank of Baroda Officers' Association (AIBOBOA) on Thursday, 3rd September 2026, at K.K.Nair Learning Centre New Delhi, on the highly relevant and contemporary theme: “Bargaining AI for a Digital INDIA – With Special Reference to Banking and Its Trade Unions”
The programme assumed special significance in the backdrop of the rapidly expanding role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the banking and financial sector and its far-reaching implications for employees, professionals, managers and trade unions.
The gathering was privileged to hear the valuable insights of three distinguished leaders from UNI Global Union: Bro. Massimo Mensi, Head – Professionals & Managers (P&M), UNI Global Union, Dr. Daniel Valtakari, President, P&M Sector, UNI Global Union, Bro. Jayasri Priyalal, Regional Director, UNI Global Union and Sh. Prem Kumar Makker GS, AIBOBOA & INBOC, VP, UNI Global (P&M)
The speakers emphasised that AI is not merely a technological challenge but also an important subject for collective bargaining and trade union intervention. Proper understanding and effective use of AI, they observed, can significantly enhance the bargaining capacity of trade unions, enabling them to better represent and safeguard the interests of employees in the changing world of work. They exhorted all professionals and managers to make effective use of AI in their daily routine and professional life. At the same time, they cautioned everyone about the possible misuse and adverse consequences of AI, stressing the need for responsible, ethical and informed use of this emerging technology.
The programme was ably moderated by Mr. Purshottam Verma, the Host Zonal Secretary AIBOBOA New Delhi Zone who thanked all the participants for assembling in large numbers at such short notice and for making the programme a grand success. He expressed happiness that the participants had enriched themselves with valuable insights and global perspectives shared by the distinguished leaders of UNI Global Union.
