
All India Bank of Baroda Officers' Association (AIBOBOA) is thrilled to share the success of its General Conference held at serene and historical city of Puri, Odisha on 25th and 26th of November, 2023 with the gracious presence of Shri Dabadatta Chand MD & CEO of our Bank, Sh. Brajesh Kumar Singh, CGM (HR), and Sh. Sonam T. Bhutia, GM & ZH Patna Zone and 500 delegated representing the officers our members from all across the country
Sh. Prem Kumar Makker, GS, in the welcome address, extended a warm welcome to our Honourable Chief Guest Sh. Debadatta Chand MD&CEO, Guest of Honour Sh. Brajesh Kumar Singh, CGM (HR) & Sh. Sonam T Bhutia Zonal Head Patna Zone and delegates. He highlighted the need for deliberations on pressing concerns primarily deteriorating work-life balance, excessive pressures, challenges relating to outsourcing and problems faced by officers in day to day working relating to technology and gaps in operational support.
Sh. R.K Chatterjee, President, shared a poignant narrative of the 59 years of our Association's history, emphasizing its continuous fight for the rights of the officer fraternity. He addressed the current challenges, urging all officers to work towards growth of business with compliance.
Sh. Debadatta Chand, MD&CEO, in his inaugural address said that he is committed to take care of the employees as they are the most valuable assets of the Bank and remarkable growth story of the bank is possible only due to contribution by the employees at the forefront. He said the new recruitment of staff which Bank has envisaged in the current year itself, will help overcome challenges of work life balance. He emphasized the importance of compliance in business endeavors and appreciated our Theme for the Conference i.e. Business Growth with Compliance and Ethics. He talked extensively on Compliance and told in unequivocal terms that non compliance is not at all acceptable as Business of 22 Lac Crores cannot run without proper compliance He said if at any time Business & compliance is in conflict then he would sacrifice business but not compliance. With thunderous applause, he informed bank will complete Promotions by end of March and Transfers by end of June 2024.
He said, HR department and Association must meet and articulate on the issue of work life balance, quality of family time, quality of life etc. He added that Objective of Management and Association is same to have bilateral discussions and take good decisions for the growth of the Bank and the employees.
Hon'ble MD&CEO also felicitated Mr. Pranav Soorma, a Gold Medal Winner in Asia Para Games 2023 held at Hangzhou, who is proud officer of our Bank and also Proud member of AIBOBOA.
During the post Lunch session, Shri Brajesh Kumar Singh. CGM (HR) in his address exhorted all the officers to work hard for growth and development of the bank. Bank has a long history of taking care the welfare of the officer community and has always been at fore front. He talked on various issues raised by the President & GS and took questions from the delegates for about 1 hour on various service conditions and replied to their satisfaction. He said with inputs from AIBOBOA in various meetings relating to policies, necessary improvements are done time to time. He informed that Bank have already proceeded ahead for recruitment of clerical & officers. He complimented AIBOBOA in its efforts to empower women by holding Female Officers Conference and appointing Female coordinators in all zones. He expressed his greetings and conveyed his best wishes for the success of the Conference.
During delegate sessions conducted on 25th & 26th after the inauguration, discussions took place on agenda, various resolutions were adopted, and subsequently the new team of officers was elected unanimously led by Sh. R.K Chatterjee, President and Sh. Prem Kumar Makker, General Secretary.
The Inaugural Session as well as Delegate Session concluded with vote of Thanks from Host Zonal Secretary Sh. Dharmendra Kumar.
