2nd National Women Officers' Conference & International Women's Day Celebrations

The 2nd National Women Officers’ Conference along with International Women’s Day celebrations was held in Mumbai on 28th February and 1st March 2026. The event was graced by the presence of Shri Shailendra Singh, CGM (HR), Bank of Baroda, Sis Veronica Fernandez Mendez Head, Deptt of Equal opportunities, UNI Global Union, Dr. Bharat Dangar, Former Director, Bank of Baroda and Sis Michelle Mendis, Director, (Eq Opp), UNI Apro, Singapore.

On the occasion, Shri R.K. Chatterjee, President; Shri Prem Kumar Makker, General Secretary; and Ms. Bhavneet Kaur Alang addressed the gathering, emphasizing the need to further strengthen and expand women empowerment initiatives.

Sis Veronica Fernandez Mendez highlighted the global perspective and shared insights on international developments and initiatives in women’s empowerment. Ms. Bhavneet Kaur Alang placed on record the activities undertaken during the past year and outlined the roadmap ahead.

Shri Shailendra Singh apprised the participants of the various measures taken by the Bank to promote women-centric initiatives and to create an inclusive and supportive work environment.

Dr. Bharat Dangar spoke about the importance of promoting women welfare measures across society and underscored the collective responsibility in ensuring meaningful progress.

The final session of the ongoing mentoring classes was also conducted on 1st March 2026.

The conference concluded on a vibrant note with various cultural activities performed by women officers who had gathered from different parts of the country, reflecting unity, talent, and collective spirit
